March 3, 2010 First Friday Kirtans: Beginning in March, our studio will host First Friday Kirtans. Previously held at Govinda's on South Street, the Kirtans will begin around 7:00pm and be in the fourth floor studio. Because of the time overlap, we will be modifying our schedule on First Fridays to accomadate the Kirtan: 3:30pm, 5:30pm, and 7:30pm classes will be held in the third floor studio, while the 6:30pm class will be canceled. Remember, parking is difficult, especially on a Friday night, so if you can, walk or take public transportation; if you must drive, there are several parking garages nearby, or you can always park south of South St. and then walk about five or six blocks to the studio. The first Kirtan will be Friday, March 5th. BHAGAVAD-GITA STUDY GROUP: The next Bhagavad-Gita study group will be Saturday, March 13th at 11:00am. This group meets every other week and is open to everyone. For more information, email Ramana. January 6, 2010 New Student?: Resolved to try Bikram Yoga this year? Congratulations and welcome! Just a few reminders for new students, since we get a lot of them this time of year: - Please make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes early for your first class. This is because we have a registration form you need to fill out on our computer; also, it gives you plenty of time to say hi to your teacher, set up your mat, get changed, find everything, and feel comfortable before your first class. If are late to your first class, it is at the teacher's discretion whether or not to let you into the class, or ask you to wait for the next one. So please be early! - Our studio is located at 1520 Sansom St., above the Sherman Brother's Shoe store. If you're looking at the door to the shoe store, turn to your right, and you'll see a glass door with signs for yoga, chiropractor, and dance - to find the yoga studio, take the stairs to the third floor. - The Intro Special is for students who are new to our studio. Its only $20, and you can come as much as you want for a whole week. So if you start on a Wednesday, you get through the next Wednesday to come as much as you can. Take advantage of it - try to come at least 3 or 4 times! - For the class, you will need a yoga mat, towel, and water. If you don't have a mat, that's okay, we have mats you can borrow for free. If you forget a towel, we rent towels for $1, and if you forget water, we sell water and juice for $1-$3. Also, wear clothes you are comfortable moving and sweating in. Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after class. - If you have any questions, please e-mail Emily or call 215 977 9642.
